The conversion of a property that previously served as a nursery has resulted in the creation of a multi-purpose facility in Szerencs. In addition to the development rooms, the building also houses a two-group workplace crèche.
The project was supported by the Parents’ House Foundation, the local council, the ministry and a company based in Szerencs.
Growing demand for early intervention
The State Secretary for Family Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation gave a speech at the handover ceremony. Zsófia Koncz highlighted the significance of the project and spoke of the ever-growing need for early intervention. For parents, timely access to services that support their child’s development is a key issue.
State-of-the-art equipment is available
The chairperson of the Parents’ House Foundation emphasised that early intervention determines children’s development in the long term, which is why it is of paramount importance that these services become available to as many families as possible. Judit Regős added that state-of-the-art equipment will also be available at the Szerencs centre, including, amongst other things, a neurofeedback system, which helps to improve children’s concentration and attention.
They place an emphasis on physical, emotional and intellectual development
From the start of April, alongside enrolment and the needs assessment, developmental sessions will also begin.
Services include:
- small-group special educational support,
- speech therapy,
- Kulcsár-style complex movement therapy,
- TSMT,
- as well as various gymnastics and movement development classes.
The centre will also offer children’s yoga, Zumba Kids, special educational sessions and elements of music therapy, and plans include so-called „happiness lessons” designed to support children’s emotional development.
In addition to children, the centre also focuses on families. Parent support and family support groups are also being launched.
