Between 12 and 18 June, it’s well worth visiting the Zemplén Museum, as Szerencs is hosting The Wonderful Carpathian Basin travelling exhibition. The exhibition showcases the treasures of 18 regions of the Carpathian Basin through spectacular photographs and easy-to-understand descriptions.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey from Transylvania to the Őrvidék region, and from the Felvidék to the Délvidék, showcasing the diversity of the Hungarian people’s cultural, architectural and natural heritage.
The treasures of the Carpathian Basin in ninety photographs
Through a total of 90 photographs, the exhibition showcases the iconic landscapes, historical monuments and cultural treasures of the Carpathian Basin. The organisers aim to present, in an engaging way for all age groups, the values that unite Hungarian communities living on both sides of the border.
The images are accompanied by short, easy-to-understand descriptions.

A special feature of the exhibition is that visitors can use a QR code to complete a fun online quiz on their mobile phones. Throughout the week, the organisers will be holding a prize draw for gift hampers among the participants.
The travelling exhibition is open to visitors of all ages and admission is free throughout the entire programme.
The exhibition is being held as part of the Petőfi Cultural Programme, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and coordinated by the National Institute for Culture.
