The Hollóházi Porcelain Manufactory Kft. has launched a joint project with the painter and graphic artist Bolda Szmrecsányi – according to a press release from the Hungarian company, which operates in one of the most picturesque villages of the Zemplén region. One of Hungary’s oldest continuously operating factories will celebrate its 250th anniversary next year. As part of this initiative, unique pieces are to be created to mark the occasion, showcasing the new world of Hollóházi not only in the realm of tableware but also in the world of decorative objects and works of art.
At the previous stop on the national tour – this year’s Füred Art Week, held in Balatonfüred from 24 to 26 July – several pieces from the Hollóházi Porcelain x Bolda Szmrecsányi project were also on display. Visitors were able to view the pieces at the Orgona 22 Gallery stand, where they also had the opportunity to meet the young artist. The next stop is this Friday, 31 July: the exhibition opens at 6 pm in Salföld, Veszprém County, at the Káli Fecske exhibition hall.
What makes these works of art so interesting is that the images painted on the porcelain are unique and cannot be reproduced; indeed, they are signed by the artist, which gives them a special value. The vases, wall plates and wall hangings are part of the young artist’s colourful, serene and predominantly pastel-hued world.
