Tokaj Fesztiválkatlan is gearing up for the summer season with a diverse and spectacular programme – the organisers have announced to MTI. One of Eastern Hungary’s largest open-air stages will once again be a meeting place for music, theatre, literature and comedy this year, where, alongside large-scale concerts, family programmes, panel discussions and special cultural evenings await the audience.
The best-known performers on the Hungarian pop music scene are coming
The summer programme features a line-up of iconic figures from the Hungarian music scene. Performers include Zorán, Ferenc Demjén and Magdi Rúzsa, who has already played to a full house at Fesztiválkatlant on eight occasions. The audience can also enjoy a joint performance by Attila Kökény and Viktor Rakonczai, as well as László Dés’s show entitled „Mi vagyunk a grund!”.
Those who prefer a more laid-back atmosphere can look forward to concerts by TNT and Kowalsky meg a Vega, whilst The Bootleg Beatles – active since 1980 – will evoke the world of international music with legendary Beatles hits.
Musicals, comedies and large-scale theatre productions
Fans of musical theatre can also look forward to a strong season. The Vörösmarty Theatre will be staging *Fiddler on the Roof*, whilst the Pannon Várszínház will be presenting *The Boys from Pál Street* Tokaj.
The Musical Live concert features some of the best-known musical hits, whilst the musical *A Kör* (The Circle), based on songs by Edda Művek, will also be staged. The season also includes popular productions such as *The Lovers of Ancona* and *Menopause*.
Not just a concert venue, but a cultural hub
In addition to the main stage, performances will also be taking place continuously at the Teátrum and the Paulay Ede Theatre. Orlai Produkció will be presenting several productions, including *Kalamazoo* and *Tikk-takk Bumm!*.
There’s no shortage of humour on the programme either: alongside Ádám Kiss and István Dombóvári’s Dumaszínház show, Tibor Bödőcs will also be performing his own show.
Family events and thought-provoking evenings
The organisers have also thought of families, with concerts by the Kicsi Gesztenye Club and Kalap Jakab in store for the children.
For those seeking cultural and spiritual enrichment, panel discussions and literary evenings with musical accompaniment are also being organised. The audience will have the chance to meet Feri Pál and Emőke Bagdy, whilst at the event entitled „A bor filozófiája”, Zoltán Rátóti and Péter Huzella will provide a literary and musical experience.
