The 2026 Margaret Island Jazz and Wine Festival It’s not just about musical experiences, but also about Hungarian wines – with a special focus this year on the Tokaji wineregion. This marks the third time that the Hungarian Jazz Association and the Margaret Island Theatre have jointly organised the Jazz and Wine Festival in the courtyard of the Water Tower.
A 22–25 May. At the event taking place between [dates], visitors will be able to sample wines from one of Hungary’s best-known wine regions alongside jazz concerts, the organisers told MTI.
The diversity of the Tokaj wine region in one place
The organisers place particular emphasis on ensuring that wine and music form a harmonious whole; in keeping with this spirit, the 2026 festival’s special guest will be the Tokaji wine region. Visitors can sample the country’s diverse wine culture all in one place, where every wine region in the country is represented for the first time.
The Tokaji wine region’s range includes, among others, the Majoros Birtok és Borbár, the Kern Bor- és Pezsgőház, the Espák Pincészet, the Paunoch Birtok, a Harmónia Szőlőbirtok, as well as the Breitenbach Pince a selection of its wines. Visitors can not only taste but also purchase these special wines, making the festival a real treat for anyone wishing to explore the flavours of Tokaj in greater depth.
Although the event is primarily aimed at jazz lovers – featuring world-famous performers such as Kurt Elling and Mario Biondi – the wine selection is just as prominent a feature of the programme. The presence of the Tokaji wine region lends the event a special prestige, as this area is one of Hungary’s best-known wine-producing centres, even on an international level.
