The local council of Tarcal has issued a call for tenders for the construction of a new, smart pedestrian crossing, according to public procurement data. The project will be located on the section of the 3617 connecting road between Tarcal and Prügy within the town limits, on Árpád Street: more precisely, near the junction with Munkácsy Street.
The section of road in question is currently a two-lane road, approximately 6.2 metres wide, with a speed limit of 30 km/h. However, there are pavements on both sides to facilitate pedestrian traffic. The development is justified by the fact that there are educational establishments and shops in the area, yet there is no designated pedestrian crossing.
In the public procurement notice, the contracting authority specified a contingency reserve equivalent to 10 per cent of the net tender price.
