A programme launched recently, aimed at supporting local talent and retaining young people, has been jointly announced by Tokaj Art Wine (TAW Concept) and Barka Hotel have jointly announced in Tállya. The initiative is open to talented young people from the town aged 20 and under.
According to the organisers of „Our Future in Tállya – Talent Support Programme” believe it is important that young people who have fewer opportunities or less information, but who are committed to their own goals, should also receive support – according to the restaurant’s Facebook post.
There are no limits to what you can be talented at
One of the distinctive features of the competition is that there is no specific subject area for which applications can be submitted. The organisers are looking for talented individuals in fields such as the arts, science, sport, gastronomy and language learning, amongst others, but applications may also be submitted in any other unique area of interest.
The organisers of the programme do not take only existing achievements into account. They have also identified commitment and perseverance as important criteria for the initiative.
They are not providing cash, but targeted support
The successful applicant will receive support worth an average of 30,000–50,000 forints per month for one year. The support is not provided in the form of a direct cash payment, but as targeted support designed to aid the young person’s development.
This could include, for example, the purchase of equipment, essential supplies, funding for the fees of a tutor or mentor, or an internship opportunity arranged through the TAW and Barka Hotel networks.
The organisers are also committed to not letting down those applicants who do not receive the scholarship. They endeavour to provide them with support in the form of contacts, information and guidance.
A three-member expert panel will decide
Entries will be assessed by a three-member expert panel. The panel comprises Anna Berger, operational manager of Barka Hotel, Katica Kocsis, art curator, and László Bálint, a wine expert.
The organisers’ main aim with this programme is to help keep young people in Tállya, whilst offering them opportunities to gain a broader understanding of the possibilities for further education, professional development or simply the chance to develop their own talents.
Applications can be submitted until mid-November
Applications are to be submitted by 14 November 2026 to the email address [email protected], or they may be handed in in person in paper form at the reception of Barka Hotel.
The announcement of the programme’s results is scheduled for 20 December, when the winners will be honoured at a formal reception at Barka Hotel.
